SHORT STORY
Oedo's Controller
Althea Grace
It had been a year since the news of a UFO crashing at the town of Hillwood. Rather than people fearing, it became a tourist attraction. Knowing well that there wasn’t any alien spotted in the UFO. Some suspects that there wasn’t anyone in the UFO, to begin with. While some suspects that an invader disguised himself/herself as a human...
Just Another Breath of Air
Milo Sevilla
It was a sunny Saturday morning in the countryside. Kenny was heavily asleep on his bed. Just like every morning of his life, the day starts with the sound of morning birds chirping from the outside of his house, the continuous waves of water from the lake nearby and the rattling of trees surrounding his house could be heard from the only ajar curtainless window of his bedroom, making the reflection of sunlight shine slowly towards his face as he only sleeps on one side, facing it...
POEMS
Malayang Sanlibutan
Filipino Poem about Liberty by Milo Sevilla
Kay puno ng sensitibo
Nahahadlangan ang kalayaan
Kagustuhang ‘di matamo
Panay nakatitig sa kanluran

Bansang hindi makahirati
Strikto sa nakaraan
Tulirong nakahahapdi
Kung saan pinahihintulutan
May pag-asa pa bang masagap,
Sa kamay ng mga pag-aalimura?
Nawa’y hirap mahanap
Ang magiting manghuhula
Panahon na sa pagbago
Kagaya nang sa kanluran
Hindi muli magiging bilanggo
Ang malayang sanlibutan
Tahan Na
Filipino Poem about Mental Health Care by Vera Jose
Sa kadiliman ng gabi
Nilulunod ng pag-iisip at silakbo
Hihingi ba ng saklolo
O hayaang higupin ka sa kawalan
Sabi nila’y huwag mo nalang isipin
Tell the World
English Poem about Discrimination and Prejudice by Alessandra Mercado
Rhythm of heartbeats that dance
Like we existed in time before love
Barbie and Ken's proverbial romance
A continuous bigotry drenches blood

Words that crossed the lines
Whose mirror always paint lies?
Social pressure that judge your size
Steer of reflection once disguised

He, she, they that shouldn't be
Prism aren't just angled in three
Rainbow that evince rights
Says we're just in the same light

As though the ink left the pages
Walk thee from terms to places

If Wicked I Must Be
English Prose Poetry about Vices by Enzo Salvador
First came hunger, then came desire, and shortly after came madness. It was war, peace can seldom be found. No end, no hope, filled with agony and torment you must be. Often I ask myself, when everything is headed down and there seems to be no way up, where do you take refuge? Far-fetched as it may be, I found what I sought most. I found my peace, my getaway, my solution. Oh, but is it my fault that I crave for goodness? That the only pleasure I ever take comes in the form that others treat as a disgrace? An abomination to mankind, they cry, but I pay no mind as I rest easy. There came a time where it was no longer enough, I crave my paradise in every inch of me. I used to pray for fulfillment, honor, happiness, and salvation. I caught a glimpse of you, staring at me from head to toe, checking every part of my body—even those I was afraid to show—and telling me how beautiful my flaws made me. The sensation of eternal peace combats the degradation of my soul. Pin me to a cross if you must, nothing will stop my will. If wicked I must be to experience all the goodness of life, then wicked I shall be.

Deprivation
English Poem about Poverty by Selina Hernandez
Amidst the streets where hope is lost,
The sun´s glows dims and the darkness emboss,
A world where shattered hopes doth dwell.
And broken hearts cry out in silence´s knell.
Empty stomachs plague them at night,
Tattered clothes offer no respite.
Daily struggles consume their might,
Survival´s their goal, a continuous fight.
Amidst plenty, many remain empty.
Fading dreams, poverty´s cruelty.
Counting small blessing´s, every penny.
Will´s tested, hopes hanging uncanny.
Gloom and despair cloud their way,
Yet, flickers of hope shine each day.
Together, let´s fight, come what may,
The battle of poverty we must slay.
Poverty may steal our wealth and pride,
But humanity and strength reside,
Deep inside us, a force to ride.
To a better world, we all can thrive.
