At last, the battle of cheers. Each team of APECtators sets foot at the center of the court to roar out what they have prepared for the yell competition. This has been a great tradition at every yearly Sports Fest of APEC Schools, however, the last face-to-face competition was in the form of a cheer dance with a mix of yells.

¨I hope that they all just enjoy and deliver their yells in a strong manner.¨ says Sir Sadia as he was interviewed by host, Alessandra Mercado before the competition begins.

Right off the bat, we kick start the competition with Green Dragons (Grade 7) to present their yell. They all sat in a letter U formation, stomped their feet on the floor, and clapped their hands before they yell. They end their performance by howling ¨Go Green Dragons!”
Rolling next, Red Bombers (Grade 8) takes the stage. They form in a slanted line shape. On the count of three, they start to chant ¨Laban, go fade away. Move forward, move!¨ repeatedly. Although they were undeniably laughing during their performance, they were able to deliver their yells successfully in a strong and loud manner.
Next up! Yellow Viper´s (Grade 9 S1) performance, this section performed a charismatic yell that´s different from the rest. They had props prepared and a leading conductor in front of the team. Their banner says ¨shout, shout¨ as a well-choreographed movement was presented throughout the performance which made them outshine the others in their materialistic efforts.
Here comes the fourth competitor! The Section 2 of Grade 9, Yellow Tigers. The team admitted that their performance was done at the last minute, however, despite that, they delivered their cheerful yells with strength and power. They had a drummer to add up to their impact and flags that present their logo, they repeatedly chanted ¨Yellow Vipers! We are Dreamers!¨ and by the end, the drummer had their own solo time to take the spotlight. Truly outstanding!
We are almost at the end of the junior high performers! Presenting the Blue Grade 10´s.
We have the Blue Falcons perform such a unique formation. Right in the beginning three falcons stood on the stage, as they yelled ¨Blueëeeee!!!¨ the other team members started marching towards the center court, then began chanting ¨Blue, Blue Falcons! Blue blue blue falcons!¨ they sang a nostalgic melody from the famous Queen ¨We will rock you!¨ but instead it´s ¨We are blue falcons!” as they stomped their feet and clapped their hands with the same beat as the Queen´s song.
Last performer for junior high school students! Blue Eagles (Grade 10 S1). They have a similar team formation to Blue Falcons, however, they have a beatboxer in the center. In the count of three, they began to chant their yell synchronously and outstandingly delivered their performance with the loud impact of the beatbox.
Now begins the performances of the senior high school teams! Pink Pelicans take on the stage with their blooming pink pom-poms and headbands. They used a swerving choreography popular with Gen Z, widely known in the TikTok social media platform. ¨P-I-N-K¨ upon yelling each letter, they stomped their feet on the ground each time. ¨P-E-L-I-C-A-N-S¨ they spelled continuously after and roared ¨We, we, we are the pelicans!¨ and sang their original lyrics. What made this performance wholesomely cutely was their adviser, Ms. Katherine Chu was performing together with her advisory class.
Humanista come in! Pink Harpy Eagles, enter the stage with their large tarpaulin with their logo and name. ¨Hey! Hey! Humanistas come to play! Hey! Hey! We are gonna win today!” they chanted and this phrase served as their core impact. They also had a drummer do a solo by the end of their performance.
Last but not the least, Grade 12 Cosmic Purple's dearest delivers their performance in the happiest tone. They mentioned that they´re giving it their all as this is their last year in APEC Schools and you can see it through their yell. They had a beatboxer in the center court to drive impact into the crowd. They start to roar a familiar yell popular in the country, USTE´s yell ¨Go Uste! Go Uste!” but instead it´s ¨Go T-Rex! Go T-Rex!” and after that their original yell comes in with the hip-hop beat and a nostalgic childhood song ¨I love you, you love me.¨
And this wraps up all the performances for the yell competition!
